Discover Hunter Douglas Green

For over 60 years, Hunter Douglas has been creating and offering natural and appealing ways to harness heat and light. In the winter, heat leaves through the window when you need it, yet becomes trapped inside in the summer when you don't. Heat loss and gain drive our energy usage up. It can be felt in our monthly utility bills and calculated in our collective carbon emissions.

Today, Hunter Douglas is committed to lowering our energy usage and implementing other changes that will ultimately reduce our carbon footprint by 20%. Our overriding goal, though, is to help our customers everywhere save energy the natural way by effectively channeling and exploiting the natural power of the sun.

Tips from Just Right Blinds for Window Privacy with a View

Control light, view-through and privacy with a Hunter Douglas Vignette Roman Shade with a Duolite option.
Adding a Duolite room darkening panel to a Vignette Roman Shade gives you control over light and privacy.

How do I get privacy without sacrificing my view? Can I enjoy both daytime natural light and nighttime room darkening? How do I get the best of both worlds?
These are great questions! Plus common ones when you’re looking for window treatments.
Fortunately, the extensive Hunter Douglas line of blinds and shades offered by Just Right Blinds & Shutters has several answers to these questions, so you can choose the option that’s best for your room design, home décor and budget. Here are some suggestions:
Silhouette Window Shadings: if you want to preserve your outside view while still enjoying daytime privacy, choose these lovely shadings with the Signature S-Vane you can adjust to float between two sheers. For even more view-through, choose Silhouette ClearView with a specialized front and rear sheer.
Silhouette with Duolite option: Add a room-darkening back panel to your Silhouette shade, operated with either SoftTouch or PowerView Motorization.
Pirouette Window Shadings: Soft horizontal vanes attached to a single sheer backing allow you to flatten or contour the vanes for complete privacy, or open any amount to enjoy your view.
Vignette Modern Roman Shades: Add a top down/bottom up option that gives you dual control: raise the shade from the bottom or drop from the top. It’s outstanding flexibility when you want natural light and a view along with privacy and light control. You can also add a Duolite room darkening panel to a 6-inch flat fold Vignette Shade with PowerView Motorization.
Duette Honeycomb: Enjoy flexibility with a top down/bottom up option, plus complete room darkening when needed with an opaque fabric and the Hunter Douglas LightLock systemside channels that blend seamlessly into the window frame and block out any light leakage. This is ideal for bedrooms, the nursery or a media room.
Roller Shades or Screen Shades: if your window depth allows, use dual roller shades with one to allow day lighting and view-through and the other privacy and room darkening. Hunter Douglas Screen Shades are available in openness densities ranging from 1% to 14%, so you can choose the balance between view and privacy that suits you best.
Wide selection of fabric: Hunter Douglas blinds and shades are available in fabrics ranging from sheer to semi-opaque to opaque. For any room that’s not a bedroom, it’s often best to select a light filtering semi-opaque fabric.
