Discover Hunter Douglas Green

For over 60 years, Hunter Douglas has been creating and offering natural and appealing ways to harness heat and light. In the winter, heat leaves through the window when you need it, yet becomes trapped inside in the summer when you don't. Heat loss and gain drive our energy usage up. It can be felt in our monthly utility bills and calculated in our collective carbon emissions.

Today, Hunter Douglas is committed to lowering our energy usage and implementing other changes that will ultimately reduce our carbon footprint by 20%. Our overriding goal, though, is to help our customers everywhere save energy the natural way by effectively channeling and exploiting the natural power of the sun.

COLOR TRENDS 2015

Just Right Blinds & Shutters Shares Trends to Consider When Choosing Window Treatment Colors for your Home.

The word is out, many trend and color organizations including Hunter Douglas have announced their colors of the year for 2015. While they may not all agree, the majority of them are announcing some shade of blue. But even if the choice is a red or green, the overall trend we see is a warming of the colors. Colors that are steady, reliable, down to earth, easy to live with and that will give a home warmth.

Calming Design

A design trend that calms the senses will continue to evolve in 2015. Being constantly connected to technology, email, phone, and text, we find ourselves over stimulated. We want to take a step back, live our lives at a slower pace. Interiors and objects that inspire tranquility and calmness are becoming more important. Atmospheric colors of blues, grays and greens will provide a sense of peace and comfort to your home.

Natural Design

With over 80% of the US population living in urban areas, the need to reconnect with nature is stronger than ever. Bringing in natural materials, textures and colors is one way to incorporate the feeling of the outdoors into a living space. The use of organic materials like wood, grasses, bamboo and reeds have subtle imperfections that create a natural inherent beauty. Choosing earth tones of gold, browns and oranges will make a home feel warm and welcome.

Metal Finishes

Metallic finishes that provide elegance are making a return. Silvery metallic finishes are the most used and specified for the kitchen and bath, but for 2015 metallics expand in their color range and are used throughout the home interior. Even though they can be found in cool tones of chrome, nickel and stainless steel, the most trending are warm hues of gold, brass, bronze and copper. The color and finish influences what décor style metallic finishes compliment the most. Burnished, aged, matte and patina finishes work well in traditional, rustic and country settings, where high gloss, brushed and subtle sheen finishes are seen in modern and contemporary styling. Whether used as an accent or a bold statement, metals will add a sense of luxury and intrigue to the home.
